Penggunaan Peta Konsep untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Mol Siswa Kelas I SMU Laboratorium Malang

One way to make students more active in classroom was by asking them to prepare concept maps of matter would be presented. This way was expected to increase learning process effisiency and to improve the student’s achievement (especially in mol concepts). This research was designed as a classroom action research which includes two cycles. Each cycle was composed of four steps, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Effectivity of each cycle was evaluated qualitatively (by classroom observation) and quantitative (by conducting achievement test, evaluating concepts maps prepared by the students individually, and surveying student’s respons about concept maps). The results were: (1) learning process with concept maps making students more capable in identifiying the concepts, correlating the concepts, and solving the relevant problems, (2) student’s motivation and achievement increased, and (3) learning process was more effective and efficient.
