Design educators Robert Kirkbride and Anna Slafer discuss activities to use in the classroom to engage students in understanding the built environment. Kirkbride’s two-part activity begins with an individual’s Mind Map, which is then combined with others’ Mind Maps to design an ideal community. This group activity is an ideal cross-curricular project.
